05.27.08 | Just shooting like crazy!
Whew!

You know when there are not a lot of updates it's because I am shooting!!! It's hard to keep up!! So here is what's new and exciting! My company Independent Artists Collaborative has continued and will continue to collaborate with Knight Owl Entertainment (Director/Writer/Editor Jeff Knight and his very talented partner Writer/Producer Sheila McClain) We really are blessed to work with such amazingly talented and just awesome artists. As you all know we completed NOIR and it is edited and being sent off to festivals! We will be having some exciting NOIR news coming soon! Also the trailer for LOTUS is being shopped in LA, NY and Japan with very positive interest from distributors. Locations for that shoot will be in Japan and possibly New Mexico.

In the past couple of weeks we shot a trailer for a feature film titled "The Haunted" and are very actively seeking investors in hopes for a July 2008 shoot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-ceIMDOEYY

We shot a promo as part of the Times Union competition called "Madison goes to the Madison"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZizKgpH5Kg

We also shot a really HOT music video! "WHAT WILL BE LEFT WILL REVEAL ITSELF" From Only Now Existing's CD Escape Artist.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bc33LJec5HY

With all that there is no sign of slowing down! We have several projects ready to go this summer. Thank you to ALL THE CAST and CREW who have been so committed to the grueling schedule of being in a constant state of production! :)

CHEERS TO MAKING MOVIES!!!

04.12.08 | Short I Driected screening in Hollywood!
I am thrilled that the short film I Directed Distractions will be screening at the Black Hollywood Film Festival in June. See the link below for more details :)

02.19.08 | It's a wrap!
WOW!

I just had the most amazing experience shooting a feature film titled NOIR. It was Written/Directed and currently being edited by the BRILLIANT Jeff Knight. I am one of the Producers along with Sheila McClain, Jim D'Ippoito and Peter Barnett. It is a Knight Owl Entertainment, Independent Artists Collaborative LLC and Ewfilm production.

I was blessed to play the role of Sami Dicapo a powerful woman who pulls the puppet strings of willing and unwilling participants finds love in the midst of a small town peppered with murder, betrayal, and greed. My partner Evan Leone Played the role of Stone and Jimmy D'Ippolito played the Detective. So NOT only did we have the great opportunity to help produce some of the magic but be in it together. The entire cast and CREW was amazing!! It just doesn't get any better then working at what you love with the people you love :)

We are hoping to screen this as early as April and get it into festivals ASAP. It is very exciting that it is a true NOIR in black and white and the dialogue is witty, fast and fun! but yet was shot and being edited in a way that is edgy and innovative. It is sure to please both the audience who loves Noirs and the ones who will find this a discovery.

THANKS SO MUCH for your constant support!!

02.04.08 | Shorts number one box office at th Madison Theater!!
So exciting!! Out of the six films playing I Directed one and Produced three!

For Immediate Release

Local "Indies" Beat Hollywood Films at Madison Theater

Albany, NY, February 4, 2008 – "Indies at the Madison," a collection of six independent films from local filmmakers, out performed six Hollywood films at the Madison Theater over the weekend.

The special week-long event sold more than twice as many tickets as its nearest competitor, "Meet the Spartans." Madison co-owner and general manager Jay Pregent was "thrilled" with the turnout for the screenings. Writer/Producer Terry Field noted that the people who turned out "must be real lovers of independent cinema to brave the sleet and freezing rain on Friday."

The filmmakers, all based in and around the Capital Region, were gratified to receive the support of the local community. Jeff Burns, the organizer of the event and one of the filmmakers, said, "I'm so happy people got the opportunity to see the high quality work that's being done by local filmmakers." Fellow filmmaker Michalina Almindo added that "it was a thrill to see our films up on the big screen."

The audiences apparently agreed. In the lively Q&A sessions with the filmmakers and discussions in the lobby after the screenings, nearly everyone said they had a great time and were impressed (and surprised) by the outstanding talent that's in their own backyard.

The 90-minute program continues this week, with shows at 7:15 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. through Thursday, February 7th.

The event includes the short films Breaking Up, a story of unrequited love and bad cell phone reception, by Jeff Burns; Good and Clean, a comedy about romance, revenge, and recycling, by Kevin Dobies; Boxed In, a comedy about a woman who calls her daughter for computer help and learns more than she bargained for, by Joy E. Reed; Silver Lining, a contemporary drama about dealing with current events and the wondrous wisdom of children, by Ben Alpi; Four, a psychological thriller about lunatics taking over an asylum, by Michalina Almindo; and Waste of Candy, a drama about a restaurant owner’s dilemma with an intoxicated couple who wants to drive with a small child, by Frank D'Andrea and Terry J. Field.

Visit www.madison-theater.com to view a trailer for the event. The Madison Theater is located at 1036 Madison Avenue in Albany. For more information, contact Jeff Burns at 518-366-1538 or indiesatthemadison@yahoo.com

09.23.06 | Independent Artists Collaborative
IAC was founded in August 2006 by four like minded individuals to join regional artists in film and theatre to create exciting new works. Founders Jim D'Ippolito, Evan Leone, Michalina Almindo & Christina Vinsick hope that through true collaboration we can generate work that will change the way we view each other and the world around us. The group consists of and welcomes actors, filmmakers, writers, directors, producers, photographers and even dancers.

The group will be meeting once a week and will consist of two portions:

Starting off will be an open discussion of projects, workshop and sounding board for works in progress. This will give everyone a chance to trade feedback and advice, and provide time to network ideas. Writers are encouraged to bring in work to be read by professional actors.

The second half of the meeting will be dedicated to the craft of acting. Everyone is welcome to stay, however those not interested are free to leave. Subjects that will be covered are: Scene Work, Readings, On Camera, Improv Skills, Craft, Technique and the Business end of Show Business. The focus will be to sharpen our skills, support each other and GET WORK!

IAC hopes to provide a home base for artists to encourage and inspire one another to create and obtain work, thereby strengthening the local artist community and casting light on the talents of the region. We aim to bring new productions to the area and provide more jobs locally within this field of work; serving as a hub between the Capital District and Manhattan.
